I Ching for Psion series 3a and 3c
----------------------------------

This software is distributed as freeware. I can't stop you hacking the
code using revtran or the like, but I would appreciate it when you
wouldn't.

A short note on I Ching divination
----------------------------------
The I Ching is a very old Chinese book of wisdom, which can be used for
divination. It is, however, not the book (or in this case the Psion)
that is doing the divining, it's always you. You interpret the texts
the I Ching gives you, so the responsibility for the results is yours
alone. The book is just a stack of paper bound together and your Psion
is just a lot of electronics in a plastic box that helps you through
life.
If you want to know more about the I Ching, visit a good bookshop and
be amazed at the huge amount of books on the subject. Generally, the
Wilhelm/Baines translation is a good start and more or less a standard.
I thought I'd let you know, that's all.

Installation
------------
Unzip the distribution file using PKUNZIP or WinZip, keeping the paths
intact. It will present you with a folder named "iching" and an
"iching.opa". Copy both to your APP directory, either on M: or a
flash-card.
If for some reason, the folder isn't there but instead there are a lot
of other files, simply make a subdirectory "iching" in you APP directory
and copy all but "iching.opa" to this directory.
Then install the program with <Psion>-I.

Getting started
---------------
Start the program. Press ESC at the banner screen. You will the see
the basic screen (two small boxes on the left, a big one on the
right). Press <Psion>-P. Type your question in the dialog. Concentrate
on your question and then press <Enter>.
Alternatively, you may select a saved divination using <Psion>-d, or
enter lines (when you have built the hexagram using some other
method) using <Psion>-o.
When you want to enter your own lines, you again first have to enter
your question. Then enter six lines by their values, i.e. 677896.

The two selected hexagrams will appear on the left. In the big box
you will see the basic text of the first hexagram. Use the menu for
more text, or press:

<Psion>-s Basic text of the second hexagram
<Psion>-f Back to the first hexagram
<Psion>-l View the line-texts. The lines between
brackets are the stable lines. The others
are the moving lines. The line preceded by
a * is suggested to be the most important.
<Psion>-q Review your question
<Psion>-v Save your divination. You may later retrieve
			a saved divination with <Psion>-d
<Psion>-n Show the nuclear hexagram for the first selected
hexagram. The text of this nuclear hexagram
			is also shown.
<Psion>-m Show the nuclear hexagram for the second hexagram.

Running
-------
Simply start the program. When you see the title-screen, press any key
to move on. The program can be a little memory-hungry, so you may have to
close one or more other programs to be able to run it.

Warning
-------
Although I've thoroughly tested the program, bugs may still be lurking
beneath the surface. Use this program at your own risk. I will not be
held responsible for any damages to your Psion, mental condition or
anything else, caused by this program.
Still, I've been using it for a year now and my Psion hasn't blown up
yet, so it's probably safe.
